HOW TO FILE A WARRANTY CLAIM & FEES
How to Obtain Warranty Service
Simply call or book online. A crew will be dispatched (if covered).
This warranty gives you specific legal rights. ScreenIT® reserves the right to improve or modify components without obligation to update previously manufactured enclosures.
To ensure your safety and give you an honest repair estimate, we start with an ENCLOSURE DIAGNOSTIC ASSESSMENT of the entire cage before determining the warranty. If the repair is a warranty item, you will be credited the diagnostic fee. The entire cage inspection summary of findings including images will be sent to you within 2 working days of the inspection.
WHAT IS WARRANTED
ScreenIT® is not the manufacturer of any products or materials. ScreenIT® simply passes through the manufacturer’s limited warranty to the client. All manufacturer warranties are limited exactly as the manufacturer specifies. ScreenIT® warrants only its own installation and workmanship as listed below.
1. Screen Enclosure
- Screen Fabric: Manufacturer’s limited warranty.
- Aluminum Framing / Beams: Manufacturer’s limited warranty against structural defects.
- Powder-Coated Finish on Aluminum and Fasteners: Manufacturer’s limited warranty. ScreenIT® may touch up the finish.
- Fasteners: Manufacturer’s limited warranty against manufacturing defects.
Wind Load Disclaimer: Screen enclosures are engineered and permitted to specific wind-load requirements based on site-specific engineering and local building codes (typically 130–180 mph). Noise, vibration, movement, or any other condition resulting from wind speeds exceeding the engineered and permitted design wind speed (as documented in your permit and engineering records) is not covered. ScreenIT® will verify actual wind speeds using official sources (NOAA, National Weather Service, or local airport records).
2. Concrete Ribbon Footer
ScreenIT® warrants its own workmanship for 1 year against defects in materials and workmanship.
Critical: Any claim must be filed within 2 working days after the pour is complete. Claims filed after this deadline are denied and the warranty for the footer is void.
3. Pavers & Hardscaping
ScreenIT® warrants its own workmanship for 1 year. ScreenIT® will, at its option, repair or replace workmanship deemed defective.
This warranty does NOT cover and expressly excludes:
- Shifting, settling, sinking, heaving, or movement of pavers, base, or edge restraints caused by soil conditions, compaction, subgrade failure, tree roots, vibration, heavy loads, poor drainage, hydrostatic pressure, or Florida’s natural ground movement. Pavers are a flexible pavement system; minor movement is normal and not a defect.
- Color variations, shading, mottling, texture differences, or efflorescence (inherent to concrete products).
- Replacement pavers may not match the original color, texture, or appearance — ScreenIT® provides no guarantee of exact matching.
- Staining, mineral deposits, rust, oils, fertilizers, pet urine, leaves, or any environmental staining.
- Damage from pressure washing, power tools, aggressive cleaning, or harsh chemicals.
- Polymeric or joint sand failure, loosening, weed growth, or washout.
- Natural stone products (travertine, marble, limestone, shell stone, etc.): no warranty whatsoever on color variation, pitting, shell sizes, density, iron ore deposits, or reactions with Florida’s humid climate (rust, discoloration, staining). Sealing may help but does not create warranty coverage.
- Cracking, chipping, breakage, or damage from coatings, anchors/hold-downs inserted through pavers, vandalism, sub-base failure, or heavy/commercial traffic beyond residential use without prior written approval from ScreenIT®.
- Porcelain pavers/joints: damage from pressure washers/high-pressure hoses; only gentle garden hose recommended. Florida weather can cause expansion cracks and loosening — joint maintenance is client responsibility.
The client is solely responsible for proper site drainage and grading. Any damage or shifting resulting from inadequate drainage or grading is excluded from all warranty coverage.
4. Pool Resurfacing / Finish
Manufacturer’s limited warranty on materials and workmanship.
This warranty does NOT cover:
- Normal color variations, shading, mottling, surface irregularity, crazing, hairline cracks, aggregate loss, delamination, calcium buildup, scale, or surface wear (common and expected).
- Gradual fading, discoloration, or staining.
- Damage from improper water chemistry/balance (must be continuously maintained within National Plasterers Council or equivalent standards; verifiable maintenance records required — lack of records voids warranty).
- Damage from animals, vegetation (mold/mildew/fungus), misuse, pool draining, chemical abuse, or equipment.
FADING DISCLAIMER (Applies to ALL Surfaces)
Gradual fading, discoloration, or shading of screen fabric, powder-coated aluminum, pavers, concrete, or pool finishes due to normal UV exposure and the intense Florida sun is inherent, expected, and NOT a defect or covered under any warranty.
LABOR & WORKMANSHIP CLARIFICATION (CRITICAL)
ScreenIT®’s obligation is limited to supplying approved replacement materials (coordinated with the manufacturer) and correcting valid workmanship defects during the 1-year workmanship period only.
After final inspection and final payment, the client is 100% responsible for ALL labor, removal, reinstallation, rescreening, refinishing, and associated costs on every warranty claim — including valid material replacements.
Strict Defect Notification: Any claims for defects (including workmanship) must be reported in writing within 30 days of the date of installation. Only during this window will ScreenIT® cover labor for valid workmanship defects. Claims after 30 days are treated as material-only (client pays 100% labor).
CLEANING & MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
Clean with mild detergent + water using a soft sponge/cloth or pressure washer at 24+ inches. Never use abrasives, bleach, heavy chemicals, or aggressive scrubbing. Lack of proper maintenance voids all warranties. Client must promptly report and mitigate any damage (e.g., protect the area and prevent further deterioration); failure to mitigate voids coverage for that issue.
CRITICAL PROTECTION REQUIREMENTS
The client must fully protect the Project during any post-installation work by other trades. Failure to protect or clean dust/debris immediately voids finish warranties. Damage from other contractors is not covered.
GENERAL TERMS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- ScreenIT® is not responsible for delays caused by weather, material shortages, manufacturer or supplier delays, permitting or inspection issues, or circumstances beyond our control. Such delays do not constitute a breach of contract and do not entitle the client to withhold payment or seek damages.
- The client is responsible for ensuring that all underground utilities, irrigation lines, drainage systems, and other obstructions are properly marked (via 811/Sunshine 811 or equivalent) prior to commencement of work. Damage to unforeseen buried objects or unstable soils is not covered.
- ScreenIT® is not responsible for damage to or replacement of plants, sod, landscaping, irrigation systems, or any existing site improvements not specifically included in the contract.
WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS
This warranty does not cover and is voided by:
- Any repair, modification, cleaning, service, or work by anyone other than ScreenIT® or authorized representatives after completion (including handymen, other contractors, storm repairs) — voids the entire warranty.
- Damage from fire, grills, torches, welding, sparks, or ignition sources too close to the Project.
- Acts of God (hurricanes, high winds, lightning, hail, floods, etc.).
- Damage from other trades, dust, sealers, improper cleaning/protection, or failure to follow instructions.
- Normal wear, gradual fading (as noted), cosmetic issues, misuse, negligence, or conditions beyond design limits.
- Claims not filed within required time periods (2 working days for concrete footer or 30 days for all other defects).
- Late or non-payment of any invoice.
MANUFACTURER REVIEW & LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
ScreenIT® notifies the manufacturer and allows up to 90 days for inspection. ScreenIT®’s maximum liability is limited to the original purchase price of the defective component only. In lieu of all other warranties (express or implied, including merchantability/fitness). No incidental, consequential, punitive, or indirect damages whatsoever.
DISPUTE RESOLUTION
Any dispute arising under this warranty shall be resolved by mandatory binding arbitration in Florida under Florida law. The prevailing party shall recover all attorney fees and costs. No class actions or jury trials.
ACCEPTANCE
By accepting the quote, contract, or making a deposit, or authorizing work, the client confirms they have read, understand, and agree to these full terms.
